Hello.

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Chris McKee. I’m an award-winning reporter and producer in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with nearly two decades of experience in television journalism in both New Mexico and Oregon.

Today, I’m a co-host and co-producer on the “New Mexico News Insiders” podcast, publishing weekly in-depth interviews with New Mexico’s newsmakers and those who cover the news. I’m also a manager, helping oversee the day-to-day editorial operations for KRQE News 13’s daily newscasts as an executive producer.

In my 13 years at KRQE News 13, I’ve worked extensively as a reporter in both daily and investigative capacities. I’ve anchored and produced livestreaming coverage of critical incidents, criminal trials and day-to-day events. I’ve investigated criminal conduct by a district attorney, controversial police use-of-force cases and the the U.S. Department of Justice-led reform of the Albuquerque Police Department. I’ve reported in the field on breaking news including high school and work place shootings; and severe weather including wildfires and flooding.

I’m an Oregon native and University of Oregon School of Journalism graduate. I started my career as a news producer in Bend, and eventually worked my way into reporting through Roseburg and Eugene.
